I just put one of these on my 96 last week. I can tell a difference in the the hp, but I can hardly hear it ("it" being the whistling sound). I know the hp is what matters, but my friend drives a little 4cyl ricer and his is way louder. Is there something wrong with mine, or are the ricer ones just generally louder?

 

i have a bbk on my 00 v6 i hear it whistle around 2500rpm + probably bc i have a split port and u have a single? idk

 

i heard the whistle more in more single port than my split port. but my single port was a off brand and my split port is a bbk. i can feel a difference in my bbk than my off brand one.

 

the diffrence might be urs goes into your fenderwell and his is a short ram he might also have more mods then you.?

in my v6 u reallly heard it around 3,000 rpm 2500 for the whistle i had a bbk my self loved it. if your looking for a louder stang get a muffler

 

it has to do with the air temp aswell in cold it wistes much more and in the warm less at least for me

 

what's the difference between the one with no brand-$70, BBK-$180 and Steeda-$200? is it just about the filter size?

 

i think its moslty about build quality. ive heard that the no names chrome starts to wear off and stuff. i think for anyone who wants a cai the BBK one is the best i wouldnt shell out for the steeda one cause its essentially the same as the BBK one

 

My bbk came with the car and it whistles from the get go. Only time I cant hear it is when I romp on it.

Cant wate to trade the whictle for the sc whine.

yea i hade a bbk on my 96 it whistles varyingly my friend said the same thing you did he didnt hear it come to find out his vaccum wasnt as strong as mine and the whistle on mine was from idle to about 3k
