Unhappy Overheating Issues

Ok So i have a 95 V-6 (And live in the HEAT of HOUSTON)

When i bought it, it had some heat issues (nothing major) so i replaced the Thermostat with the OE spec. Resealed the gasket and Replaced the Temp. Control switch (for the fan) This made my car run much better but i still was not satified. It went from overheating in anything under 50 mph to just running warm. (at the "M" and "A" in "NORMAL")

Then just today, i was sitting in the parking lot at school (about 10 am and 90 degrees) and my car started to REALLY overheat (boil in radiator, but i didn't let it steam)

So, at this point I'm not sure what is causing this and what to do. I flushed my radiator and (after 2 months) the Anti-Freeze was BROWN, originally bright green.

I'm hoping that the flush will help (and seems to so far but it's 78 degrees now)

If not, What should i do?!?!?

Thanks!

No, The cap seemed ok. No rust or anything to get in the way. The oil is good, I put a 10w-30 last change... not doing that again. What is the best oil for a 95 v-6 with 156k on the dash. It doesn't burn much (IF ANY) or leak, but im hesitant to use synthetics...

May be a head gasket leaking. My 95 did something similar when it went bad.

run a compression check, but if its not running like crap or blowing smoke i wouldnt be sure on it being a HG. its easier to swap the motor then fix it, and if the oil wasnt milky and at the right level i wouldnt bet on it, or its just starting

1030 is fine for 100k+

Oh ok, Thanks. The Radiator Flush seems to have made a big diff. but i haven't had much time to test it.
You think it would be safe to run a 10-30 synthetic. Like i said before, i have seen ABSOLUTELY no oil leaks and if it does burn oil, it's about half a qt. every 3k miles (estimated)

It's ok vovovovan. I would says that's ok as long as it doesn't pass. I mean if i consistantly shift at 4k, mine will hit just before the RED. But if your just talking about doing in once then I'm not sure.

95red, is it coming together ok for you? If you need any help, I'll be in Houston on the 13th, I could give you a hand with repair.

overheating problems stink, but cooling systems are fairly simple and easy to work on, lemme know if you need the help.
