Smile Detailed Engine...

After leaving the army I bought a 96 mustang with a V6 3.8L. Since, working on cars has become a personal hobby. Here's my engine after three months of work. I had the longblock rebuilt by a machine shop, and I personally did all the custom detailing. It has a cold air intake system, a bigger throttle body, shorty headers, dual exhausts, and the ECU has been tuned with a SCT flash tuning device. I've also upgraded the suspension with high performance struts and shocks, and installed a kenwood dvd/cd entertainment system with infinity speakers. Let me know what you V6ers think of it so far.

I used a pressure washer with 1500 psi. The water pressure knocked say... 75% of the grease and dirt off. If there was anything left over, I took a Skil rotary tool or a dremel with a steel brush to it. Next I would prime parts, spray three base coats of whatever color, then spray three coats of clear coat to give it a nice shine. I went over vinyl and plastic parts with "Back to Black" or a spray that acts as a finish. Then I used some type of engine shine (which is also a degreaser).

However, the engine was also disassembled so I could work with each part individually.

Should have done a split port swap for all that work.

I wish I did, but by the time I learned I could do a split port swap, it was already too late.

that's a good idea with a wire brush. i should brush my compressor and alternator b/c the dust and dirt is so deep in the rough surface that it's just impossible to get it out with a teeth brush.
