Ported upper intake question
Well, ive decided that i wanna get my upper intake ported and have the inlet match my 70mm TB. Question is, how much better is it to buy an upper from supersix where they get the inside and weld it together VS. CRTperformance where its just ported where accessible? What kind of difference would it make?

sigh, you are all messed up, my friend, just like me. i was in the same boat, wanting to port the same, as I bought an aftermarket, larger tb for the good rpice. then, i deceided, well, hell, while im there, makes sense to port the lower intake as well, and add a vapauto.com intake spacer. more money! then i started thinking...hmmm...while i have the intakes off the car, i mean, the heads are right there...makes sense to have those ported as well, while the intakes are off the car. hey, if im doing that, might as well drop a cam in there too!
now, im saving up for an ssm stage 3 powerpak from supersix, and the cash for the install. :P
point being...i guess if u want some REAL gains, and u wanna do it right the first time..keep saving and do the same. if u want a little bit of a gain, the ported upper and lower is a must. id def. go with the intake spacer, too...thats another 5whp/5wtq there.

Well, im not trying to go crazy, plus i already have the intake spacer. im just waiting to get the upper ported so i dont have to take the manifold off twice. I just wanna know the hp difference between the two types of port/polish jobs.Just wanna know the difference so i can save myself some cash.

if you are gonna keep the stock heads for now, def. keep the stage 2...dont worry about the cutting/re-welding thing. theyll flow well enough for ya for now, def. if you ever upgrade the heads and cam too, you can always have them stage 3 the upper intake.

im from NC, and believe it or not, around my area (raleigh), there are very, VERY few people willing to do performance work. everyone seems to wanna do brake pads and oil changes only. :P but i recently found fastlane in benson, who are supposedly real good, albeit a little high. i believe for a cam, heads, and intake install, they quoted me...850.00? if i shopped around, i might find it cheaper, but all these guys work on is mustangs, so im gonna go with them.
Full port is what to do. And I agree....save up and do the heads a the same time.

^^^ there ya go. matt knows.
sigh, everything is so expensive...since im halfway there, im defintiely gonna do the full h/c/i thing, but if i knew i was gonna spend all of that when i bought the tb and thought about porting everything else, i would have left it all stock and gotten a blower kit for about the same.
ah well, if business picks up, and i can have some extra cash faster, the SSM stuff will be even better when i get the f/i.

Well, if i had the money i would believe me. But, since im in school and have to pay off loans, im just taking things one at a time for now.I just wanna get the upper intake ported. Im not getting the upper ported to only match the TB, I just want better flow. Plus, it would probably be a good project for me to install in class.
