It is absolutely 100% legal. But like I said, even though it's safer than stock, it is against federal regulations to remove the factory seatbelt, due to the fact that it is illegal to remove and federally required safety equipment such as airbags and such. I have actually seen cops write tickets for not having the stock seatbelt installed, not "not worn", but not installed, with a harness in place for removing safety equipment.

I plan to rock the harness bar in mine until I HAVE to get a cage and I think it's safe, and you guys know how picky I am about safety.

I'm actually a Safety Consultant for a living, so it's kinda my career to assess these types of things lol

Ryan, your the man. Haha at least if it isnt safe, you made me feel 100 times better. I dont expect the harness bar to last me a life time, just a year or two before i get a full cage. And i am definitely NOT going to cut any seat belts, i was never planning on it. I wanna be able to go back to as stock as possible if needed..... excluding holes every which way for harness bar, and harness install.

they are takata harness's if anyone was wondering.

I believe it bolts up where the seatbelt hanger is, from the pics I saw of it. Take some pics of the pieces and I can probably figure it out lol

I just looked at corbeau's site, jsut get the right size torx bit and remove the pivot hanger thing for the seatbelt and bolt it up, looks like it'll take an extra set of hands to keep from scratching stuff up.

Now I hope you are aware that the purpose of the bar is just a support/pivot point, and you should probably look in to a seat saver. The belts will still need to be bolted to the floor, most likely at the seat track.

A seat saver is a support that basically keeps a tight belt from puting all it's stress on the seat back. It's basically a bar that is attached to the cross bar with a plate that rest on the back of the seat so that when the seatbelt pulls tight and tries to pull the back of the seat towards the cross bar, it makes up for that lack of support that will eventually weaken your seat.

So it will be okay for a while, say a year or two without the seat brace? definitely looks like a good thing to have, but doesn't look necessary. Maybe il just wait till i get a cage in. But you recommend bolting the harness's to the floor still and not to the actuall roll bar?
