Default pressure washing the engine

i remmeber i saw a picture of what to cover up when pressure washing
but i cant find it so what needs to be covered when pressure washed

at the grocery store i had a $50 off coupon for a pressure washing service
im sure they can do the job fine (should i get a service to do it or should i take a risk of me using my pressure washing, im not a pro and have never used it, but a serivce has more profession in it) if i bring a cleaning agent from autozone
to help degrime and crap right, isnt that what i need also? what cleaning
product should i use or let them use? then isnt there like clearcoat or shine
you can use on the engine too? i have a huge car show soon, need to be
looking good for a sixer there.

help please

I wouldn't preassure wash under the hood, too risky IMO way overkill unless you have a 1in thick layer of gunk. Cover up the alternator, battery, fusebox, and air filter then spray it down with the water hose followup with a degreaser, let it sit for a few and rinse it down; then you can hand wipe any thing thats left. I would use a leaf blower if you dont want to have water residue. (I use one on my car to dry it every time I wash it)

DUDE dont pressure wash you could break ur wiring harnesses and screw up some stuff
not a smart idea. ur connections could get wet and corroded just use a water hose on a low setting and dont put water on everything!

My engine has been pressure washed like 40 times...

I've had no problems. Cover the coil pack and your fine...

Or you can do it the hard way with scrub brushes and everything.. and take 4-6hours. Pressure washer and a brush gets the same results however.

so kyle, just cover the coil packs with a plastic bag and rubber band? are you sure thats all, no alternator battery and stuff? so just spray it with the pressure washer a little bit away form the engine to wet it, them spray a degreaser or entire cleaning agent, or if its at autozone then the simply/simple green whatever it is stuff then rinse? ive heard spray tire shine in the bay too, i want it to be shiny as hell, car show is comin up

this is dumb but im still learning, are the coil packs the.....6 little things to the right of the upper intake manifold in you picture here?
