Default Hesitates

I have an '03 convertible with the 3.8L V-6. So far, I have put a MAC dual exhaust and a CAI. However, when i punch it, the engine seems to 'hesitate', and actually sounds like it is only running on 5 cylinders. This lasts for a second or two. Any thoughts as to the cause, and cure??

03 v6 mustangs don't have a coil. I would guess that it maybe just throttle hesitation. I know that my car hesitates before it will actaully drop down to a lower gear normally. Try cleaning the throttle body.

Are you getting a knocking or pinging sound? A misfire normally happens when your idling, not just when you accelerate. Also do you have an automatic?
