Default starting problems

i have been having some hard time starting my car. like when i go to start it go to crank then just die on me....so i took the battery cable off and replug it on and it starts. then after 7 times of doing that i got fed up with it when it did it the eight time and bang on the steering wheel and the needles on the gauges went all the way up just like it did when i took the battery off. then crank. so does anyone have any suggestions one what could be causing it...
and twice this month i have had some issues with the theft light...like i was driving and it was blink rapidly

a new battery doesn't always mean it's a good battery there could be a internal short. And i would clean the terminals and insure they are tight.

Have you checked conections to the starter or alt? Sounds like a loose cable to me.
