Drand name, diffrent quality, diffrent prices.

I am planning on swaping out my 7.5 rear end for a stock one from a same gen GT. I will get a posi, better gear ratio and a strong rear end in the process. From what I am being told it might be a lot cheaper and easier then buying gears and a T-lok and then haveing them installed.

Kinda funny, when I first bought my 00V6 I took it to a friends of mine that owned a custom mustang shop. I did a burn out in his parking lot and left TWO tire marks about equal length (1 car length long). He was pretty shocked because he knew it was an open diff. I only really started getting the one wheel peel after about about 50K miles. by 80K I had replaced the diff fluid and man there was a TON of metal specks in the oil (wear) after that one wheel peel was unavoidable even when not trying.

SO a 96 Gt rear end will bolt right up to a v6 body? Also does it have to be exact year or between the years of that body style 94-98

nope from 79-04 rearends are all interchangable but if you get one out of a 79-93 you need half inch wheel spacers i believe is the size

you also need a 5 lug swap

and the detroit or eaton wont shread the spider gears or require a clutch pack rebuild. are also stronger then a stock 8.8

An 8.8 would work just fine in his considering it doesn't have enough power to hurt the 8.8. plus he can do good burn outs like this one!! VV
