A guy from craigslist near me is selling a Diablo Predator for only 100 bucks

i have a few questions...

1. don't they lock onto your car somehow so they cant be used by other people or is that a different tuner??

2. is it possible to share the tuner between me and a friend??
ex. i upload a tune and then he can upload one for his car

3. is that safe??

 

nope, one tune per car, so make sure its onlocked

 

for a 100 bucks sounds like it is locked......You can get it unlocked for 150 bucks at a dealer...

 

don't go cheap here, get something that is tuned professionally for your specific car. different cars ahve different mods and different computer codes. you don't want to be screwing around with ure car's computer.

 

no ur wrong there cause if it is a sport tunner like he says then it will work for his car it has the info all ready the thing is if he pays a 100 and that guy didnt unmarry it from his car that tunner is no good to him unless he pays for it to be erased.

I only paid $460 for my diablo and my mac cat-back with tips.....so there are good deals to be had.

I would try it on my car first to see if it will take if it does then i would get it

 

^ agreed plus it in your car and make sure it works, if it doesnt he needs to put the stock tune back on his car to unlock it

 

There's nothing wrong with a used tuner unless it's locked, because a tuner, unless the owner does something to a parameter setting on their car (tuners don't save tunes for other vehicles after the stock tunes been reuploaded, unless you have the appropriate software, and then you need to hook it up to your computer). It's not like a chip, where one wrong move or setting can make the car undriveable until it's modified again, or removed.

I say as long as it's unlocked go for it. If you get it, PM me and I'll shoot you over a custom tune setting. You'll have to remind me of all the parameters so I can tell you where to set things because it's been a while since I had a diablo.
