Track Night
Alright guys, just wondering a few things. I was at strip tonight and saw a few interesting things. There was a black v6 Stang, not sure what year, but it ran ABOUT 8.5 in the 1/8th mile, but I missed its speed. It was up against a stock 5 spd 4.6 SN95, which it raped (did 11.7 and the guy stalled it *trying* to do a burnout). Then there was another SN95 v6 with separated duels w/ 2.5" pipe and Flow 40's, UD pulleys, and a CAI. It ran about a 10.4 in the 1/8th. I didn't get a chance to run my sixxer which is pretty much stock, being as I was playing with a '78 cobra....
...But to my original question, what could have been done to a v6 to make it run 8 seconds in the 1/8th? It intrigued me...And how much RWHP could I expect from a CAI, UD Pulleys, and duels (divorced cat backs or LTs & h) on my '00 v6?

"PA" ? And what about RWHP with those same mods and with a throttle body and intake spacer (NOT a throttle body spacer...)?

With UDP, CAI, and duals, you'll see a gain of 10hp max. You'll be looking at ~160-165hp.
I got my most benefit from a tune (my car was 15% rich) and my LT's. If I had to do it again, I would get tune, LT's and gears first.
I run a mid 9 in the 1/8th mile.

well lets calculate it 196x.15=29.4so 196-30=166 these are ruff numbers for a 5spd NE 3.8 if your auto it maybe more like 196x.18=35.28 so 196-36=160 again rough estimations but sound good to me right?
