speedometer removal

Default speedometer removal

I'm trying to take the speedometer out of a 95 mustang and I got the screws out but I don't know how to remove that damn headlight ****. Anyone know?

stick a small flat head screwdriver in there to pop it out, there is a metal clip that holds it in

what are you taking it out for?

probably the reverse glow gauges. i have them still but gave up. the screw on top of the cowl is too hard to get out

really i have taken it apart and put it back quite a few times its not that bad

you have to remove the headlight **** first, true. but then you remove the screw on top of the cowl right, if you cant get out that screw then, well your screwed :P

on the 94 there is just 2 screws where the arrows point, and the headlight ****, then you just pull it out

yeah thats what i tried to unscrew, they are just screws but i couldnt quite get in there, not enough room to use a screw driver, but i managed to get in there but i couldnt turn the screw cause it was so tight so i didnt want to go further or else id strip the nail

to remove the headlight **** you need to bend a thin nail into a "J" and holding one end with pliers stick the other end under the metal brace and pull towards the drivers door, at the same time pull the **** out. i've taken mine out a few times. as for the screws, there 2 on the top as "ny94pony" showed in the picture, than just pull it out. there another 4 screws in the gauge itself, you want to put the steering wheel in lowest position. after you loosen the gauge up, pull it out a little, just enough to stick you hand in and disconnect 2 harnesses
