Engine swap
Hey guys.
I have a question. I want to replace my 3.8L V6 engine in my 97 mustang with something bigger. I've thought about putting in a crate engine and building off of that, but also thought about just swapping it out for a stock V8 from a junkyard.
Which would you recommend? And would there be a lot of rear end work required with this kind of engine swap? Also, which would be cheaper...?
Thanks a lot.

Easier and cheaper to buy a GT. And you can't put an older engine in a newer car.
And I Quote.. "EPA Federal regualtions don't allow older motors into newer car."
If you want power, and to keep your v6, I'd do a 4.2 swap and boost the ****

I realize the older-engine newer-car thing, and I wouldn't buy an old engine from the junkyard.
I really like my car as it is, and thats why I wouldn't want to buy a GT, at least not at this point in time, so I was curious as to which of the two options i posted would be easier.
Plus I think it'd look cool to have a nice shiny new engine under the hood :P
Thanks again for the replies
