having a good working set of wires can increase mileage but not more than 1mpg.

Autolite premium wires are fine. if you want top of the line wired MSD 8.5's are fine as are live wires and a screamin demon coil pack from http://www.performancedistributors.com/94mustangv6.htm

I have MSD wires and Denso iridium plugs. Honestly, my car doesn't get a noticeable MPG gain. It runs a lil bit smoother, that's all. MPG is 90% determined on how you drive. I can womp on the gas and get only 15 mpg city or drive conservatively and easily get 20 city with an auto.

I have heard bad things about the livewires but the demon coil pack kicks ***. Performance wires are usually bigger in diameter and have less resistance which allows for more power to get to the spark plug.

You must live in a small city. The traffic lights in my town suck ballz because they are rarely ever synchronized.

As for the coil pack, if you don't have a misfire or have $100 to waste, it's not needed. I replaced my coil pack with new Motorcraft one only because I had a misfire and wanted to completely upgrade everything while I was at it.

Flip the coil pack over affecting anything? Nope. The screamin demon coil pack does help. At least I felt a difference.
