Default Tires

Looking for tire with a fairly good wear rating that will actually hook up under boost. 245/40R17's Any ideas?

your asking too much from a tire. to wear decent they must be harder. the harder they are the worse they hook. nothing over a 300 treadwear for any hope of hooking especially in 245 width

255/40's are about the same price and will give alittle wider contact patch

these have decent gripping and OK wear. this size is alittle narrow but they would work and $80 for 2 is a good price. i have 2 on the front of my car now and have ran them on the rear.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

also if you could find some Fulda Quantum elite tires they have good wear and very good traction. i have 2 quantum elite's in 275 width out back now.

these next ones have awsome grip for launching. the Fulda Extremo Carat. they are a road race tire but are soft enough to heat up at the track to get them sticky. simply an awsome tire, and even with their 180 treadwear they have lasted very well for me. i have ran 4 sets of these on my 2 mustangs and my old firebird. i paid $110/tire so that is an excellent price and they have free shipping

255/40 maybe 265/40

275's will fit but they need a 10" rim to get the proper contact patch

the fulda extremo's i linked are by far the best for traction and OK wear. they wore like harder compound tires and had excellent wet traction as long as you are not in boost too much

Thanks I will take a look. Anything will be better than what I have now because the tires just blow off in second gear!

i have 245-45-zr17 firestone firehawks on my car, havent romped on it yet with these tires yet, treadware is like 300 though so they should be somewhat decent
