And I remember my 1991 Cougar had the 3.8L v6 and it was the WORST engine I have ever encountered. Fuel enjectors going out.... etc.... Is this the same engine?

 

well....it is a weak engine....but is somewhat realiable aside from the head gaskets

 

I bought my 95 for $1500 and It has been an excellent car for me, Not to say that I'm not lucky. I think if it's been treated right and you treat it right then you'll be fine.

As far as power... lol. That's a joke. You will be beat by about everything but a stock honda civic.

Get ready to to a split port swap, motor swap or F/I
