Default New driveshaft=HP gain?

I was looking for new parts to help boost some hp on my 05 V6, and i saw a 1 peice aluminum driveshaft that is supposed to be 30 pounds lighter then the stock. it makes sense, that since its lighter it will be easier for the engine to spin it. it said it would give around 16 hp gain and like 12 torque, i know people usually overstate it, how much do you guys think, if any, it would actually gain from this?
thanks
T.C.

its not going to give you any HP, it might free up like 5 HP at the most if you upgrade to a lightweight fly wheel while your at it

There isnt such thing as a one piece for a new edge is there?

Can you still get a new flywheel with an auto Mustang? Whats the lighter flywheel do?

There is a 1 piece for the new edge. You have on on there now. Stock.

Technically there is no flywheel for an auto, it's called the flexplate. But I don't know of any aftermarket ones.

The lighter flywheel decreases rotational mass.

Yeah only aluminum driveshaft I have seen for a new edge auto 6 is some FRPP one and I asked the guy at my sponsor and he said it cant work but he can custom do alot of stuff like the yolks and what not and make it work.

They will free up around 2-5 rwhp due to loss in rotational mass, but I assure you, they're not 20lbs lighter, more like around 5-10 depending on model, year, etc.

^^^What he said. They are not all that heavy to begin with, but there is room for improvement on the weight.

Actually with the 05+ and being the 2 piece driveshaft, it's possible. I haven't personally held one off of a Mustang, but every 2 piece driveshaft I've done has been ****ing heavy compared to a 1 piece. The one piece ones from 3500 long bed GM trucks are ****ing enormous driveshafts (like 6 inches in diameter or something), but are lighter than a 2 peice off of a car like a CTS or something.

But pre-05 driveshafts are nowhere near that heavy, and you won't see a 20lb loss.
