Default Drivetrain problems

My name is Roger and i am having a problem with my drivetrain. I have a 1965mustang with the straight 6 200 cid 3.3L motor, and a c-4 transmision. whenever I go to take off, the front of my car will jump up and grind a little bit near the center of the consel. I know it is in the middle because i put my hand there and i can feel the vibration and i can hear it. this happens only in first gear. if i give it too much gas it will do this but if i take off slow, it will be fine. i just had the tranny rebuilt as well. he gave me the wrong torque converter at first but i have the correct one now. my motor mounts and tranny mounts seem to be ok. any suggestions would help. thank you.

Roger

I would double check the motor and transmission mounts and the crossmembers. Sounds like some thing is loose and when torque is applied its moving. Also you might try posting in the Classic section rather than the V-6 section. I think that would be a better place for your questions.
