Whats necessary to do a swap to a 4.6l or a 5.0l?

Thanks.

You need a lack of common sense, a love for spending a lot money for minimal power gains, and projects that cost more than they should.
Other similar mods include the turbonator and high performance muffler bearings.

In short, if you spend the money you would invest in the V8 swap on your V6, your V6 will be MORE POWERFUL than the V8 you just swapped in.

And FYI: The all powerful "holy grail" 5.0L pushrod V8only makes about 25 more hp than your V6 when looking at them stock vs stock.

Ok first of all the 3.8 is a TURD unless you dump a retarded amount of effort, time and money and then you still arent on a level playing field when it comes to the 5.0-5.8 mills.

The 3.8 is a good daily driven motor and does a good job doing what it was intended to do but its no where near the foundation the 5.0's are.Im not saying there arent fast 6 cylinders but what ever you do to that 6 can be done to the 8 and yield more power.

To the OP if u go carbed 5.0-5.8 u dont need much. And it can be done in a weekend.

Thanks for that amazing and informative post. Unfortunatly, you are 100% INCORRECT. The next time you decide to bless us with facts, make sure they are CORRECT facts. Like when you say "do whatever you do to a V6, it can be done to a V8 and yeild more power." Only sometimes, and you have to look at over all cost. If you have a V6, it's be FAR cheaper to built it than to swap in a V8.

For the cost of swapping in a 5.0L, the 3.8L can be made much more powerful. Wow, swap in a 5.0L in a weekend and get 200 rwhp - amazing! Freakin' race car right there!! Or swap on intake and exhaust and make that with your 3.8L with much less work and less cost.

Going carb'd from a fuel injected motor is illegal in most states due to removal of certain pollution controls- so what's the point?

What about it? My car makes more tq that hp... just like most of the 3.8L push rod motors.

just saying V8s come by torque a lot easier than a v6 and sometimes its about the torque not just the horsepower.
