it depends on the driver

LSD or T lok helps you get a better grip all around. So to answer your Q. yes it is possible that it can help you launch better

no that is easy... look up an Auburn Posi unit (t-lok) and match it to a gear you want. there is no point in locking the axles of a stock gear (3.27s) get 4.10s and a matched auburn posi and enjoy.
