Default Clutch recommendations?

New to the forums....Looking to replace my stock clutch on 94 V6 and looking for suggestions. Thinking about going with a SPEC Stage 1 and also adding a short throw shifter from American Muscle. Also wouldn't mind a promo code if anyone has one but just looking for some guidance.

I have a Spec Stage 1 in the 5.0 and love it. You're going to get a lot of responses on this topic, but I'd have to say Spec has more than earned my business.

Thanks been checking the internet out for about a week now looking at all the websites and just about every clutch that I could put in there. I'm gonna order it in a few days so I'll see what everyone says but it's looking like I'm gonna go with the SPEC.

jthorn, how are the bearings that come in the Spec kit? Any squeeking? My car has a high squeek when I'm driving until I push in the clutch. I think it may be the throwout bearing.

My bearings are great, however I had my throw out bearing changed when I had the clutch installed, it was getting bad. Had the clutch now two years and no complaints.

i have a spec stage 3 (same price as a stage 2 at lmperformace so why not) and a spec aluminum flywheel i love them both. its super gripy and the pedal pressure requirement is very low. only issue is the supplied grease on the spec throw out bearing was no good i greased it up good with Lucas assembly lube.

spec makes good clutches, light weight fly wheel would also be a nice upgrade (you need to atleast resurface your old one) and if your in there, spend the extra money on the TOB if it doesnt come with one to do it right the first time and be done with it
