Default Amp Ground?

Alright, I've got everything ready to be hooked up in my trunk, Amp, Subs, Wires all in place, but I was just wondering where would be a good place to hook up the amp ground wire?

Thanks guys.

...And I know there is a section for this, but they are not hittin' a lick in the audio section...

You don't want it to be too long, it can act as an antenna for noise. I try to keep mine under 18" Make sure it is at least the same gauge as the supply wire coming back from your battery/load center. There are a couple of factory grounds in the trunk that are good to use. Just make sure you have a clean unrestricted connection

Try to make the ground as short as possible and 1 gauge larger than the power wire.

As both stated, there are several great places to ground off at both the top and bottom frame in the trunk.

For my ground i just put the amp wire on some screws that were behind my rear seats. If you fold the seats down they are visible.

all kinds of places to ground out your amp....where ever you choose make sure its a clean surface, ie. use an emery cloth and clean it down to some nice shiney metal so that you knoe it is going to make a nice connection.

Just out of curiosity, why does the ground need to be so large? Will it kill the amp or cause it to not work?

I dont know but just make sure that your ground and power wires are connected to the amp good, I had them both come lose and they touched and melted both wires. It was fun.....

You want as little resistance to ground as possible, just like a free flowing exhaust...

here is a nice chart for you...
