Default CAI Install

I hate to sound stupid, but here goes nothing. Ok, so I had ordered a CAI a while back, and it finally showed up today. I immediately set to work on the install, and sure enough, everything is perfect. However, on the top of the pipe that connects to the intake manifold, there is a hole in the CAI. It is just upstream of the vacuum hose. Can anyone tell me what the deal is, and if I should plug this or attach something to it?

you have to plug it. I went to the auto store and bought something plastic that would plug it. In the trunk there are lots of plastic plugs that are in holes in the trunk (i don't know what they are called). I would just take one of those out and use that to plug the hole since that is basically what i bought.

Ok, sounds good. Looks like I'll have to buy something though. My trunk has been stripped for my sound system. Do you think something like RTV liquid rubber would do the trick?

Ah, I just found out that it is made for the Intake Air Temperature Sensor. However, my car doesn't have one of those.

you have one it is just relocated so you don't have to worry about it. I wouldn't do the liquid rubber thing because i don't know how much suction the intake has. I'm sure if you dig around in your trunk you can find something. If not just run to the auto store and buy some kind of plug. they are only like $2.00. I'm just worried that anything else would get sucked into the engine.

besides, if at any point he decides to buy an aftermarket intake temp. gauge, wouldn't it be easier to jack it in here?
