Default Dyno Tune

I recently went into a local performance shop, Vividracing and I was asking about dyno tuning my car, and the guy there said that the stock PCM can not be tuned. I would have to buy a new computer? Is this true?

You will have to buy a tuner that is compadable with their dyno tuning software, be sure to ask what they tune with.

Just get a tuner, and let them tune with it on the dyno, simple as that.

How much would you gain with a dyno tune if you already have a tuner?

Well they can properly tinker with more advanced settings such as making the A/F ratios near perfect, and setting timing at the perfect degree of advancement.

Okay thanks, I'll ask what they use. Besides what they say, what is the best tuner to buy?

Yeah I was looking at that tuner on stangmods.com
I'm also curious as to how much gain I'll get with the tuner/dyno.
Is it worth the almost $400?

You could gain like 10hp/tq but it will probably feel like more. You will deffinatly notice an increase in acceleration. If your going to get a dyno tune then just get the sct wherever you can find it the cheapest (new) but if you arn't getting a dyno tune, then order through vmptuning and have justin write you a custom tune.
