Default Mac Headers with Magnaflow Catback?

Well.. Prior to learning anything I purchased a catback kit for my Mustang when I got her back a couple of months ago. I got the Magnaflow Catback Exhaust system with makes it dual exit. I like the sound as I was looking for something mild, not too crazy.. But now that I am getting more serious about performance I am being told this wasn't the best move. I am looking at getting the Mac Long Tube headers and just wondering if they will just bolt right up with the magnaflow for now or if I need customizing to make it fit.. Thanks for any help.

The Lts will work with the magnaflow catbak. all you have to do is get the mac o/r h pipe or have a exhaust shop fab you a mid pipe.

The only way the Magnaflows will work is if they are for a GT.

No I think this is what hes talking about http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku so he would need a new catback, or he could just get midpipes fabbed up.

ok maybe i confused you guys or i confused myself.. my current setup for exhaust is the MagnaFlow Catback System Model 15717...

http://images.magnaflow.com/02produc...s/15717_lg.jpg

Am I basically going to have to trash the exhaust system to get these to work?? i would hate to do it cuz i really just bought the exhaust not too long ago and only have maybe 50-100 miles on it... practically brand new.. cant for now I just use the original y-pipe? or is there no way to make it work together besides going true dual?

Thats along the line of what shaunmac was saying you had.you could get the headers take the catback with you to the exhaust shop and let them fab you some true duals by cutting the catback and fabing a mid pipe.

that wont work dude, the long tubes wont bolt up to your stock h pipe.

if you get long tubes you need a midpipe/ hpipe that works for long tubes and once you get an h pipe that cat back is no longer any good

the only headers that will work with that is shortie headers that fit to your stock ypipe

i wish we has a paint program so i could draw u a nice picture

so i guess im skipping the headers for a while.. that sucks.. cuz from my understanding shorties are worthless... only long tubes give any kind of power.. and im not jsut going to throw out a brand new kit.. this blows..

he could get the headers. install them and then go to the exhaust shop with his y pipe and let them cut the y pipe. modify it to fit the headers. cut the end of the y pipe and the catback that connects the two and have a little pipe added in to have true duals from the header back
