What dangers w/ Nitrous?
I mentioned the idea of Nitrous to a friend and they were just like wow you better be careful... Something about if you get into an accident I should kiss my a$$ goodbye.. I havnt really heard of all that many "explosions" associated with nos... Is it that common of a problem?
well thats what I am looking into.. I want to make sure i do everything right the first time.. i am building up the engine first to hand the extra power.. i figure a 75 shot.. nothing crazy... plus i know i need the basic nitrous kit, purge kit, bottle warmer, remote bottle opener, window controller, etc. Now just have to figure if i need a wet or dry kit... anyone know which is better for our cars.. American Muscle sells both...
Several risks...
1) Poor tune means you toast your motor. Manifold backfires are a good way to take out the top half of your motor, your hood, windshield and anything else that flying parts hit.
2) If you rupture your bottle (hit in an accident) then the free nitrous meets spark, you're gonna blow up the car and anything within a few feet of it. Think Fast and Furious... but not so Hollywood.

The most likely situation would be blowing the intake and possibly the motor, but if the kit has the proper safety items, and the car is properly tuned, the chances are extremely small.
As far the whole car blowing up in an accident in where the N20 line ruptures, and then raw fuel meets it, is like 1 in a million.

NITROUS IS NON-FLAMMABLE AND NON COMBUSTABLE!!!
im going scientific on ur a$$
When the nitrous oxide heats up it splits into nitrogen and oxygen. SOOO in turn you have more oxygen availabe to combust. Also since you have more oxygen to combust it allows you to pump more fuel into your engine to combust.
Also the nitrous oxide has a cooling effect on the air in your engine, and as you should know colder air is less dense so you can fit more in there. And the cycle continues
