Default Headers

I just took my mustang to find out what is up w/ my exhaust. I was quoted $300 to replace with OEM's.

How hard are headers to change? Also, anyone know where I could pick up some decent aftermarket ones to upgrade a bit for a good price? I'm not even sure what brands are good and what ones to avoid no matter what.

Stock headers are easy, just take your time and have a backup car incase you break something and need to make a parts run.

Get exhaust manifold gaskets and that is it for the parts bill.
If you remove the EGR then get an EGR gasket.

Check Ebay for 94-97 headers, 98 will work too but they have an air tube on the pass side that would need to be capped.

Long tubes will give you an actual boost in performance.

Well I wouldn't say a waste of time..Maybe what 3-5 hp diff? Shorties are a bit** to put on so I can just imagane the LT'S are alot worse. Speaking from experince. Had a header exhuast leak had to drop the whole engine to fix it. BTW I love my shorties.....
