Exclamation Misfire...again...

Alright guys, some of you may remember me posting a few months ago about having a random misfire. Well, it went away for a while after I sea-foamed the car, then returned a week or so ago and its missing worse than ever. When it misses the sound of the miss, or the "plop" echoes back through the CAI... It almost sounds like a valve isn't closing well every once in a while...

To the guys that answered before, does that still fit the description of injectors going bad? And if they were going bad, should a diagnostic scanner pick something up?

i think i remember he post, and i still think its very possible its an injector, the seafoam may have helped it for a while but it creeped back up on you again =[ i think i did the same thing, i seafoamed my car and didnt notice my misfire anymore either until later

im not sure a scan/diagnostics tool will be able to tell you if the injectors are bad, you might have to go to a ford dealer honestly, to get the good tool. a buddy of mine brought home the ford software and has it on his laptop and hooked it up to my car and ran an injector test, and it told me that at least 3 of my injectors were on their way out, below spec but still in the "green" and one was really bad, right at the bottom of the "green" almost in the "red". i picked up 6 injectors from a fellow MF member for 50 bucks shipped and popped them in and i run great

Take it to autozone and let them run a free scan and see if it turns up anything. I personally think it probably has something to do with the ignition coil, or a bad plug/wire, but who knows, could be an injector too.

if i remember correctly you tried all that stuff right? if not then i would def change the spark plugs/wires and see if you have a buddy with the same car that will let you swap ignitions just to see if it cures the problem. i did all that to mine with no luck and thats when i changed my injectors

Turtle is right on the money. When it started doing it, I changed the plugs, wires, coil, then different plugs. Nothing. Sea foam helped for a while, but as stated, problem is back.

And I work at Advance Auto, and I have used our scanners, and the colleges scanner, which is MUCH better, and nothing...
