I got my first car 2 weeks ago. Its a torch red 2007 v6 with a 4.0L. What is the best cold air intake i can get that won't need a retune and will increase my HP, torque, acceleration, and sound the most? Need help very soon. Please!

I'm pretty sure you are gonna need a tune no matter what to get the full potential out of the intake.

BTW, might wanna check the S197 sections, that's your area

You must have a tune for your car to run right with any mods you decide to add I believe.

You MUST have a tuner to go with the intake, a tuner is a good idea anyways incase you change other things about the car.

Don't thread jack

But anywayyyys.....did you add just the filter? Like a K&N filter? Or did you put a whole intake on? Because I have never heard of mpg loss from just changing the filter.

I added the filter and modified the intake somewhat. I replaced the old Rubber arm with one that was more open. I really never thought that would make that much difference....

You won't need a tune for a CAI, but on a 2007 you will see very little gain without one.

Pretty much all S-197 Mustangs need a tune for the CAI to properly work as the ECUs are very sensitive to even the slightest changes. If the CAI doesn't require a tune then it will clearly state that it doesn't need one. However, you will get much better power with a tuner. The 05-09s run very rich from the factory, so by getting the CAI and tuner package and using the tuner to lean out the fuel mixture a little, and increase the timing 3* you can gain a nice bit of power.

That shouldn't have happened, something is wrong somewhere, check for any vacuum leaks on the intake, believe it or not, a simple vacuum leak can cause that problem.
