Default cigarette lighter connection

I recently got my radar detector back and now I am having problems with my front cigarette lighter under the radio. It doesn't seem like there is a good connection. The plug will barely move and my radar detector will restart.

Do I need to replace the cigarette lighter?

thanks

It is possible that your 12V slot is bad. These can easily be replaced, and are available at nearly any auto parts store. However, you may want to simply check the connection. If your car is a 99-04, simply pop of the shifter bezel (it uses little plastic snaps that pop in and out of slots). Then, press on the connection in the back to make sure it is secure. If this does not correct it, your next step may very well be to replace the plug-in slot.

So it's working, just having intermittent problems? If that's the case, definitely do what he^^ said, check the connections.

No difference. When you pop the bezel off, you have to put the car in Drive...make sure you have the parking brake on. To do that just put the car in aux. power (which is almost starting the car). But yea, dito Azrael.. The 12 volt jack is on the bezel your taking off so just dont pull it too hard
