if i were to get a chip would i be able to adjust it for gears by updating tunes or would i either have to get a handheld or go to a shop?

Get an sct, and it has setting built in it for gears you can just "plug-n-play", all you have to do is select the gear ratio

I think if you spend the extra hundred for the scts x3 you will be glad you
did in the long run. More flexibility and being able to read codes is a nice
feature to have in your toolbox.

Yeah and from what I'm told the eliminator doesn't work as well on our cars and the tuner is just easier to work with being a handheld with the screen and options.

you could probly find a used tuner on ebay or something for less than 200 bucks, then buy a tune from VMP and you will be set. u can get an xcal 2 or 3 and it doesnt have to be off a mustang before you got it, the new tune you get will be for your car. you just have to make sure when u buy it that it is "unlocked" from the previous car
