My grand total came out to about $280, but I ran tips. The tips costed me $50 so overall, you can get it done for probably $225... The Thrush welded series mufflers are only $30 online, and labor was only like $170 for me.

I just have straight duals, installed by a custom exhaust shop. The finished product cost me $130, after tax and all. The car definitely sounds a little ricey if you step on it too hard. I'm going to get myself some welded Thrush mufflers or their resonator turn downs. I think that straight pipes sound just a bit to raspy.

Well here in NY you need cats so it's a no-go with gutting the cats... what's the cheapest I can do with an h- or x-pipe instead of my y-pipe?
anyway, best way to get a good sound:
longtubes, 2.5" tubing, chambered mufflers. big cam. do you idle? your cam isnt big enough. then go a rumpabumpbump'in downt eh road pissin off them hookers and pimps

Hell yea do it right the first time and get some longtube headers with a H or X pipe. I guarntee you will never sound like a crappy quiet v6 again. I love it when people ask me if i have a v8.

Why do new people come in, revive old threads like this that have been answered with useless stuff, then never come back.

Uhh, it pisses me off.
