Unhappy my steering wheel :(

Whenever it is moist outside my steering wheel gets sticky, there are literally chunks of the top of my steering wheel coming off at this point . It looks like **** and the texas heat cracked it all up like 3 months ago. Most of the damage is on the top. Could I put something on it to seal it back up or something?

Just get an FRPP wheel, you'll love it

Thats your stock foam steering wheel dieing after years of service and abuse

You can get a GT or Cobra Leather one to replace it or you can do what Ryan said and buy the leather FRPP which like he said, you WILL love it! Its a very nice wheel

I would upgrade if I had the money, but cash is really tight right now. I'm looking for a cheap fix lol.

Mine did that. I sanded the rest of the top off, and while it's a slightly different color it made it hardly noticable. Just use a really fine sand paper if you do it. In the future, the leather care gel product that is, I think, made by meguire's will eliminate that problem.

I may have my stocker laying around somewhere, it's not pretty, but it's not terrible.

Default Steering Wheel Rewrap

I had the same problem happen to my steering wheel, to the point where there was almost no leather left. I took it to an auto upholstery shop and had them re-wrap it with new leather. It looks pretty good and feels great, it cost me about $200 to get it done, but it was definitely worth it. I'll try and post some pics soon

I didn't pay that much for a new steering wheel.
