Default P0340

So i have a series of problems. Weeks ago what sounded like my belt started squeeking. I replaced the belt, waterpump, and alternator. no change. A couple weeks later it started to make a bad noise when you take it above 2000rpm. It sounds like the engine is miss firing or like the engine is under a heavy load. It also has lost power. There is not check engein light on but i took it to Advanced auto parts and the code p0340 came up so i replaced the cameshaft sensor and no change. What should i do?

Get a coil. Return the cam sensor, unless you installed it wrong, which is pretty easy to do.

you need to replace the aluminum base that the sensor bolts to. that is what is making the noise. these go bad all the time. the base will have to be marked and the new one installed in the exact same position to keep it in correct time.

If it's a 5 speed and it sounds like belt squeal/squeaking, it could be your throwout bearing.

its called the camshaft sensor syncronizer, if it was a 5 speed and the throwout was making noise pushing in the clutch pedal will make the noise change or go away all together. if you dont have alot of experience working on cars i would take it to your mechanic.

It was camshaft sensor syncronizer, cost 65 bucks and 80 to have it put in. Thank you very much jwog666.
