What's my best bet for a Cold Air Intake on a 2004 v6? I want the most horse power I can get! Thanks
Steeda CAI...

I on the other hand noticed a slight gain past 4k RPMs with a MAC CAI. The car also makes a nicer sound at wide open throttle...and thats with the dirty filter [sm=jawdrop.gif]

However I would rather test the new system much more thoroughly before I can make a final judgement.

I bought it from my brother for $35 buks with the dirty filter...still deciding whether or not to either clean it or buy a new one but for that price I can't go wrong

NOOOOOOO.

i just started on this site. the only 2 sites im registered on are import sites and you wouldnt freakin belive how many pple ask about intakes..short ram or cold air. omg..its like gods gift to imports!!!! pple do an install and brag on the hp they gain. hell, all it did to my accord was make it loud (which was all i was expecting). the sound makes it seem faster, but I know its not from dyno's sheets.

but please...not the mustang guys too!!! i mean.. on v8's ive seen dynos making 7-10 hp..and no doubt they will add a few hp..but..why so many discussions on intakes???
nobody is bragging about intake #s. if you bothered to read the posts, everyone that replied said you won't see any difference in performance. only thing you'd really notice is slightly better throttle response. someone asked what the best one to get was. oh, and when i got a CAI, it certainly did not make 7HP. maybe 7 engine HP and like 3RWHP.

i was talking about v8's and dyno's that IVE SEEN the improvements on. not on an asthmatic v6 that has as much stock hp as my friggen 2.2 accord. thats what i was talkin about.

looked to me like you were talking about mustang owners bragging about CAI. i know you were talking about dyno numbers on the v8's though, and i was saying i didn't see anythign near those numbers.

People people, if the guy wants to get a CAI, let him get one....but he knows that hes not gonna get much HP outta it, maybe 3-5 at the most. there is no "best CAI" imo, because the top name brand ones are just the same as the ebay ones, basically, ur payin for the name and paying for one lookin better than the other...

I'd like to see actual before and after dyno numbers when installing a CAI. I find it hard to believe that it would give you ANY HP gain on the Mustang (with a K&N filter). I mean look at the stock intake - a CAI is the EXACT SAME THING!!! The only difference is that stock is plastic, CAI is metal... that's NOT going to give you a HP gain (if you have K&N or a similar high-flow filter, of course). Also, because of everybody saying that a CAI sounds great, I decided to install one. However, I don't notice ANY difference in sound after installing it. No 'whistling', no extra 'throaty' sound...nothing! Unless you want a CAI purely for its looks, don't waste your time and money on a CAI!!!
