Default Starting the Front suspension and Brake swap tonight

This is for the 96' as my 95' is kind of a dead project for now till I figure out what I want to do next.

Welp its late and at the end of my vacation but I was hunting parts most of the this last week and I still dont have my SS brake lines, Moog sway bar end links or non-offset poly rack bushings but I will get by and change those when I get them.

I started this thread so that I can ask any questions that I need if I get stuck and just to keep updated on my project.

I've never done this before and going right out of the books and the vague online refs that I could find. I've changed parts on the front but never everything at once.

If anyone has some tips and hints, give it to me now while I am early in the project!

Keep ya guys updated.

Here is what is going on.

* 97' Cobra Brake Calipers, rotors.
* Duralast Gold Cmax Ceramic pads (The price and lifetime supply conned me in )
* Tokico Illumina Struts
* MM CC plates
* 97' Cobra Strut tower brace (Already have the 2pt K-Member brace on)
* Saleen 1 3/8" Front swaybar w/poly bushings
* New OE swaybar end links with Energy Suspension bushings
* New 03/04 Mach 1 Power Rack (Waiting on the poly bushing kit, change later)
* Steeda Bump-steer Kit
* New 03/04 Lower control arms
* Energy Suspension offset control arm bushings pressed in
* H&R SS Springs for the 97' Cobra good for 1.75" drop, with the six, of course less.

Welp I broke my socket flathead tonight trying to hold the strut in place while trying to remove the nut. I will have to return it to Sears today for a new one and hope the second will hold up.

My chilton says to use that socket with a breaker but if it breaks again I will try an impact from my dads box.

Just use an impact, that's what I do, it comes right off in a second

Off topic but would a 125psi air compressor be enough to run an impact gun off of for things like this? I found one on sale.

Yeah, but what really matters is how large the tank is. I have a 33 gallon compressor, it's plenty for my grinders and cutoff wheels. I want to upgrade to a 60 eventually though

Air compressors are an important tool in anyones shop, just as important as a socket set. After my dad took his back I have felt like every job I have done could have been a lot easier with my air tools!

As for size, we had a 6gal and the one he took back was a 50gal.
The 6gal sat so long unused, that we forgot that we had it when he moved from California.

It just wasnt enough for anything but the 50gal always got the job done and could run two tools at once.

Well I found some 33 gallon ones for around $300. I might have to spring for one sooner or later, as an investment haha.

I got mine from Sears, if you wait a while they go on sale all the time, they're $80 off right now. Just make sure you do the full break-in process with it. From what I've seen they either have issues right away, or never have any at all, mine's been doing great.

Here

Thats actually the exact one I was looking at Ryan. It would probably make my rear end swap easier. What is required for the full brake in process?
