New Battery: Which One?
Well, my battery is pretty much dead. It won't hold a charge for very long, and twice I've had to get some friends to push start me. So, I'm going to replace it before sticking the car in my shed. The only problem is, every battery that would fit my car is pathetic. The CCA's are entirely too low for my liking, and since I'm running a sound system, I'd also like to be able to use the stereo for just a little more than 2 minutes with the motor off. In previous vehicles, I had found Deep Stage Marine batteries that were the same size class as the car. However, I can't find any for the Stang. Anyone have any suggestions? Overall, I'm looking for at least 600-700 CCA top post. Thanks in advance for any help.
Optima's are good but my last one didnt even make it 2 years.
Orbitals are good for stats but die even sooner, I went through 3 in less than two years and finally they stopped exchanging them for me. They said I exchanged it too many times but it had a 3 year 100% warenty on it.
Best bat I have ever had is a cheap $39 dollar Wal-Mart battery that has lasted me for almost 4 years without a single problem. It comes with a 5 year warenty so if it goes any time this next year I get a new one free of charge.
Sometimes you dont get what you pay for.

Btw, these werent in just one car in case someone might think there was something wrong with my charging system. I have used these in the 300ZX, in my Mustang and in my wifes 96'. The Wal-Mart bat is in the 96' right now.
Yea, a few friends of mine have Walmart batteries that have lasted for ages (one made it 9 year, somehow). Anyway, the life of the battery isn't vital to me, but it would be nice to have one that could make it through at least 2-4 years. 800 cca isn't bad at all, and I'll check AM tonight too. At the worst, I'll get one from my neighbor (who runs a battery shop). Anything wrong with "reconditioned" batteries? I mean, I'd get it free and all, plus it would have a 2 yr warranty...
If its FREE, AND 2 year warranty, I would do that as long as it was the right size class and CCA, but I wouldn't buy one. I've seen several leave advance with "dieing" cells and die at the first cold snap of fall
