Default Running Out of Parts

So, I've had my (2nd and only surviving) Stang now for long enough to have come to a sad realization. Everything left to do to my car costs too much money for me to run out and get. I'm saving up to go F/I with a converted M112 setup, but it will be a while before I can afford the whole deal. In my sig I have some other stuff that I'll probably sell my car before achieving as well. I'm sure being away from the car all winter will increase my love for it, but the next thing to happen will be, of course, mod madness. The most I can hope for is to have about $400 to throw at this thing in the Spring. The question is, what can I get for that? Or, should I just add it to my M112 money and hope for some serious cash to blow my way? (Or should I spend it on lottery tickets and pray...a lot...)

Save your money. However I noticed long tube headers weren't on your mod list.

Well you could just save for the M112 conversion.

You could also do this.

94-97 stock Shorty headers or if Ill doesnt care about LT's then LT's would be the best choice.
Strut Tower Brace. Ford says the stock cobra unit is a 30% increase in front end rigidity.
Mach 1 / Cobra front brake conversion with SS line.
Cobra front Swaybar with poly bushings, Cobra rear with poly.
Poly sway bar links.

And the list goes on. Obviously you cant get all that for $400 but in part you can.

For $400 a good combo would be a used strut tower brace along with the PBR Mach 1 / Cobra front brake upgrade. Handle better and stop quicker with less fade.

Of course 73mm Maf housings and UPD's arent going to be of any use after you get your M112 conversion.

Good luck with what you choose, but the smartest thing to do is just to save. The parts will still be there when your ready to spend the money.

Just fyi my mod list before and if I do an M112 conversion cosists of:
UDP - will help with M112 and adds a few hp now
LT's or Nitroplated 94-97 shorties and high flow catted midpipe - better flowing/more power
8.8 swap- for traction
bigger rims to fit the mach 1/cobra brakes - want to have more braking power than stock with almost double the hp.
LCA's and possibly full length subframe connectors - traction/wheel hop
Possibly a few other goodies but those are just a few things I feel are needed/will help with the new power.

Take from it what you will...

The LT's are on my mental list, and I'll throw them into the sig in a bit. Sadly, I can't use a UDP with my sound system (something that I may just sell to get the M112). If someone made an ODP to go with it, that'd be fine, but I've not seen one in all of my searching. New/bigger brakes are absolutely on the top of my list, along with new shocks/struts, and that will all come when I cut my springs in the Spring...and no, that pun was not even close to intentional, so no laughing. Everything but the LT's I'll most likely get as a gift anyway, so no cash out of my pocket there fortunately. However, looking at the cost of headers, everything seems to be a bit steep in price. Then again, Jegs and Summit are always high, and that's the only place I checked (call me lazy, I know). Any recommendation on where to get them from?

There IS an alt ODP that ASP or MotoBlue has. I think the MotoBlue is an 8% unit.

As for prices, Summit usually has the lowest prices on many products, Jegs is a rip off from my own experiances.

Also check other dealers for sales.

If you can spring for it, get ceramic coated LT's.

The speed game is expensive most of the time, just gotta try to get around it somehow.

Are you looking for Mac L/T's or pacesetter? For the Mac check out lmperformance or stangmods. I've only seen pacesetter on summit and jegs.

Sell the sound system and save the money towards the M112 or get the udp with the money lol. Don't you have like 3 10's? Thats alot of un-needed weight imp.
