Default Testing the waters - product developement

Ok guys, I've come up with a new spin on an old product, mainly because I think $75-$100 is too much for them. Tomorrow I'm developing my own PCV delete kits to include a catch can/expansion tank. I want to have my target price no higher than $50 as a complete kit with mounting hardware and everything.

They will range in size from around 10-24oz, come equiped with drains that can easily connected to a hose to prevent having a nasty mess, and a small filter element on top.

Now the question is, who would actually buy one with that kind of target price? I know they can be had cheaper on EBay, but as most of you know I have a pretty good rep, I wouldn't put my name on junk. Just to help in product developement, I may offer special deals to a select few at a discount to basically "beta test" this thing and let me know where improvements could or should be made.

Please be honest, because I'll just make one for myself and my wife's car and be completely content lol

Not to rain on your parade or anything but if most are smart enough they will just see what you used and make their own.....

True, but that's also what they said about the M112 intakes... and although there were copies... most failed due to lack of understanding what they were ripping off.

I'll bet these would be a hot mod for those looking to do it. I love the idea of known V6 guys inventing, testing and producing parts for our cars.

Yes it is nice to see someone trying to make things cheaper for others but the M112 intake takes a tid bit more work than what he is trying to accomplish. Keep up the ideas though!

I think its a good idea.

And as far as people copying the idea, 99% of people don't even want to mess with it so i'd say Ryan will be safe.

I'd be interested once I go FI. I'm working on getting the final parts for my M112. Sucky part is that the adapter plate is the last piece I need. haha

Yeah but wouldn't that be the case for pretty much everything? What's so complex about MAC LT's or a Magnaflow catback that someone else can't cut it up and reproduce it? Hell if you've seen a catch can in person, it's not all too complex.
