This might sound bad, but what is "J mod" and "Hammer Shifter"?

Sorry...

^^Where can you get those? Are they expensive? And are they hard to install or expensive to install?

I think new through B&M they run between $200-300. As far as I know the installation isn't that hard except for soldering a few wires.

I mean, everyone loves manuals for how fun they are to drive, but on the otherhand, and maybe this doesn't apply to stock automatic trannies, but the automatics are going to give you more consistent times at the track obviously. With some proper modifications they can really fly...but again, maybe they're not using stock trannies.

I was joking if your talking about me. 5 speeds generally make more power for a dd thanks to drivetrain loss and I'd say a good 75% of the people on heres car is a dd with a few fun mods that doesn't see much track time.

5spd= more power and much more fun.
Auto= more consistent track times. Basically what Shaun said.

But IMO 5spd FTW!!!
