Damn, that's almost a bad thing. Not for you obviously but do you know what would happen to the auto industry if all cars lasted 500k+?

ok darn it talkin it up and know i got a coolant leak. gasket went bad behind the water pump, pump is still good but i will change it out along with the original belt. first time a wrench has touched this motor got to love this ford

but still a water pump gasket failure isn't anything. happens all the time.

Shoot changing the water pump is just part of maintenance.

does the car still have the original belt/battery or did you change it at 500k? (IIRC they were originals at 460k?)

You mean it has the stock spark plugs too? Damn...

Thats 50k miles/year. Thats alot of driving.

And I thought my girlies 3.8L Stang was doing pretty good with 130k miles on the clock with no major issues. Hah...

check the car and see if it is made on a Wednesday. Thursday every one is starting to drink. Friday through Monday every one is drunk. Tuesday everyone is hung over. and Wednesday they are all sober again and can think straight. Hens the term the Wednesday ford that never dies. I had a 1989 mustang 2.3 last winter that i jumped, ran into things, put into the ditch 2 time once at 40 the other at 60. had the hood ran over with my friends truck he also ran into me at 30 mph to try to kill my car. i dropped the clutch at 60 into 1st gear many times nothing killed this car. the car had over 300,000 miles on it when i started this stuff. The cops band it off the road
