That may be a problem then, since mustangs have non-functioning scoops from the factory. Its part of what make the mustang a mustang.

Are the first S197 GT500 scoops function? I feel live I've read that they are. You could build something out of rubber under your stock hood if your cut a hold I suppose to collect the air and dump it onto of your cai, only if you have the K&N one because that leaves the top exposed for air like that.

Since '03 the cobra hoods have had functional heat extractor vents from the factory. YearOne makes/made a kit that turns the factory scoop into a funtional ram-air but it was $700.

have you guys ever ordered from rockauto? they have one with the scoop holes, but no scoop, for $300 shipped. says its CAPA certified. im weary of buying any body parts that arent oem, though.

I found an oem parts store, but can someone please tell me the difference between these two? Does the one w/scoop come with the scoop, or just the holes predrilled?

nevermind, figured it out myself. local body shop wants $600 to paint hood, scoop, and blend with fenders. thats not including install.
