I'll certainly do that. And thanks again for the help. I'm at a pretty good stopping point for now anyway. Rainy weather makes for some sucky car work. *LOL*

i feel ya it's raining here too. i found that schematic that shows the cluster and power/signal wires. it's been a while since i was in the cluster but it should be one of the wires in the large 20 sumthin pin connector

If you buy a tuner and get a tune from VMP with PATS disabled your car will start with the new cluster, but it does make your car easier to steal. But the plus side is if you ever lose a key you can just get a key cut at your local key cutting place and it will work.

its what I did with my car b/c the chip in the key screwed up twice in 3 months.

Yeah this is the schematic I have. My wire colors don't really match up with the colors on this one. Oh well. May have to go with a Trial and error til I find the right ones...*LOL*

Amen to that. I emailed Ford... asking if they will send me a pinout of the cluster. (I can always cross my fingers... but I won't hold my breath)

If you cant get it figured out then just do what was already suggested, buy a SCT tuner from VMP and get a custom tune from them to turn PATS off.

Good luck.

*whew* what a day. Went down to the Ford dealer and got some printouts of the dash cluster schematics and the VSS (OSS) from the PCM. Life got a LOT easier with that. I don't think I can post them exactly as they are (copyright laws and whatever) but I will do something with them by the end of the weekend and maybe someone else can use them someday as well.

By the way... this car is a take off of a 'Knight Rider' inspired project. The outside has been done for a while (still factory gray, not black... Oh well)
