Hey guys, i got my insurance bill today... after it got lowered... and they want me to pay 342.88.... I live in massachusetts so im used to high prices and heavy taxes.... it doesn't get it's name taxachusetts for nothin.... but in my opinion this is a little high... so i complained to the guy and got it down to 265.96 a month.... with that he sent me an email saying "The car that is really high is of course the Mustang. It is a very high symbol vehicle." In my personal opinion... i think this is bull. Everyone i know pays at most 205 with accidents. My parents with 2 cars and driving records pay less than me, with 1 car and a pefect driving record.

I want your opinion, am i being a jacka$$ or is the insurance company ripping me off.

Your young, so you're considered inexperienced by the company. So your rates will be a lot higher for the next couple of years.
And your male, rates are higher for guys because they statistically drive faster and get into more high speed collisions.
And also the mustang, although it's not a GT some insurance companies may still label them as performance in some aspects. Hence, three possible reasons why it's higher than your parents.

Don't feel too bad. My brother is 18, and he pays 1K more a month than anyone else in the family. For several reasons, he's male, he crashed and totalled his car about 2 years ago, he got a ticket, and he's young.

Stay away from the cops and don't get into an accident, or you'll get screwed!

When I was 17, I was paying $175 per month for full coverage on my Mustang, and I had one ticket on my record. I live in Colorado. I go through Farmers, and I have the good student discount and my parents have their house and all cars under the same comany (so we get some sort of multi-car + house discount). I now have my condo under the same company, I'm 21, and my insurance is about $88 per month still for full coverage.

That's prolly far more detail than you need, but just giving you my monthly cost probabaly wouldn't help much. And I'm sure your state of residance makes a HUGE difference. Although we do have nasty winters here...

Anyways, good luck fighting that evil insurance company![sm=lildevil.gif]

Well, if you live where insurance tends to be high, and you're young with a car that inurance companies consider a sports car, then of course you're going to pay a lot.

I get a lot of discounts through nationwide for good student and my parents being long term customers, so I lucked out. Try seeing if there are any discounts like that for you to cash in on.
