Default New guy with a V6

Hello I have a 2000 V6 soon to be a V8 I know :icon ban him: but I will not ask what it takes to do this. I have been doing a search for a week and found a lot of info on what it takes. And it's a lot of $$$$$$$$$. But that's ok I will never sell this car. I'm looking to be in the 10sec. range I have a 2003 ford lightning in the low 12sec. now but I don't want to do anymore to the truck, so the mustang will be the victim. It has 101,000 on it It was the car we got my daughter in collage 10 years ago. Now it has come home. (The car not the dauther) Rather to see her trade it in she made me a deal. so technically I bought the same car twice. (Who says collage dosen't pay off.) I will be starting from the ground up with supporting suspension drivetrain then motor and so on I will try to post pics. when I can.

Here is the car as it is today.

Congrats on the DoubleBuy

If your going to start the swap soon then I wouldnt worry about cleaning the engine.

I HIGHLY suggest buying a complete parts car.
There are a few 99-01 Cobra's on Craigslist for under $3000 obo right now around Springfield Mo (My area for now) and a good parts car is worth a bit of a drive.

Being in Texas you should have no problem finding a Cobra or Mach donor car; California, Texas and Florida seem to be the BIG Mustang states (Cars in general.)

We just got ahold of a 2001 Cobra with new warrantied crate motor for my wifes 96' swap (Double swap) :P

There are a few posts on here of people going through such a swap.

Good luck with your swap.

The maintenance is the only thing that's been taking care of. All oil changes, brakes, tires, The car runs like new. My son in law is more into computers then cars. But they would take it in for all the maintenance work, so what are you going to do. It looks bad now, but give me a little time and you will be surprised.

I've been looking on craigslist. No luck so far finding something close.
