Default Having a serious problem.. Need some help..

Ok. So today I was bored so I installed some strobes I had laying around.. I can't think of what I could have done wrong here.. it was a simple 2 wire hook up.. I took the fogs that i had in the grille otu and just used the existing wiring and switch setup for the strobes.. Used the same groun location and everything.. Well anyway I had the car running and everything was fine.. Had the radio going when all of a sudden the highs kicked out and i was getting all bass.. then i was like ok so i turned the car off and went to start it back up but all i got were clicks.. now here is the weird part.. when i take the key out of the ignition and have the door open the interior lights come on and everything looks fine.. as soon as i put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position all the interior lights turn off and nothing works at all.. its like i lose all power to the car.. but as soon as i take the key back out the interior lights come on and everything looks fine again.. its like as soon as i turn the key the batter disconnects from the car or something.. anyone have any idea what this could be?? not sure if it matters but i know the battery has problems and doenst hold a charge for long.. normally it can sit for 3 or 4 days before its get drained if you dont go and start it up.. but again i dont think that really matters since the lights and everything work as long as the key isnt in the igniton.. thanks for any input..

Quick update.. Now i am even more confused.. so i went back outside and got in the car and went to start it and got nothing.. battery dead already... so i put the jump box on it and everythign starts perfect.. left the jump box on it and had the radio blasting and everythign was fine.. ran perfect.. let it go for like 5 minutes.. took the jump box off put it away turned the car off and went to go inside when my brother rolled up.. so i go to show him the lights.. go to turn the car on and just get a bunch of clicks.. all the lights stayed on this time when i turned the key.. just not enough juice to turn it over.. so i know i need a new battery as it looks like this one is completely done.. have a yellowtop ready to go in just have to get it from the garage.. just wondering if its possible that the incident above could have been caused by a battery not able to hold juice and once all juice ran out the car was running on the alternator or somethign like that..

Some type of grounding out? Tried just unhooking all the stuff you hooked up?

I had a wire come loose on my running lights on my first car. I hooked it back up and flipped them an and almost instantly the complete outside insulation melted off and the wire became bright red lol. Needless to say those fog lights never worked again.

Yea.. Well i still dont know what happened.. Like i said i went back out and put the jump box on it and it was running fine.. as soon as I turned it off and went to start it again it just gave me the clicks.. my guess is that the battery is just completely shot and the jump box was the only thing keeping it alive.. so im guessing that the battery just cant take a charge anymore and hold it.. the battery in there was a used battery we had just laying around that was drained multiple times.. finally took its toll i guess.. like i said.. just have to bolt in the yellowtop and see how things go from there.. i guess once i instll that ill see how things go.. if i have any more problems ill keep you posted.. i just couldnt figure out why everything would "black out" when the key was inserted and turned.. i did a quick look up online and saw somethign about the ignition switch might have crapped out but it for it to fire back up without a problem with the jump box is on makes me thing its just a bad battery issue right now.. i guess time will tell..

It may just be the battery, but the more electrical stuff you add, the bigger the strain on the electrical system.

could have also crossed some wire or something that is now making something in the electrical system not turn off when you turn the ignition switch off.
