Default Cats

Hey if i was going from this Mid pipe ( http://www.macperformance.com/store/...Product_ID=306 )to this catback ( http://www.americanmuscle.com/maca99gt.html?lct=s ) Do i even need to put on cats? And is there any advantage to having no cats? How likely am i to get pulled over and what kinda fine is it (Is it that much louder with no cats?)

Its not about getting pulled over and getting a ticket, although that is a concern, I doubt you'll be able to pass emissions testing without cats. And that midpipe is for longtube headers fyi.

When you go for your annual or semi-annual state inspection. At least we have it here, I assume MD would too.

Nah in ND we don't have emissions test at all...You think for the extra cost i should just through on the cats any ways?... So wouldn't the tips be sticking out like way after the bumper since i am getting mac long tubes. O/r h pipe. and the the catback of course but adding on the cats inbetween the h pipe and the catback wouldn't that make it supper long lol

No you cut the h pipe and weld the cats on it haha. But you will see a little drop in low end power without cats on a stock 3.8. Nothing crazy, you probably won't with cats though. Just something to consider. You can get two high flow magnaflow cats for under $200.

O so without cats i would see a low end power decrease. Nothing i would notice though....Ok i am just going to go with what i was looking at before then.

http://www.jegs.com/i/Magnaflow/642/...oductId=750982

How much do most places charge to cut and weld and put these on cats

(Could i put the whole system on my self after the cats get put on or should i let the shop do it?)

U can install everything yourself. Set aside a day and have an extra set of hands. Shops shouldn't charge much at all for that, $50 tops.

Nope. You'll be fine. A tuner would help regain that low end power though.
