How do I make it a 4.2? I mean I know of the 4.2 kits from SSM, but that's a lot of coin!

Will I have any issues if the shortblock came out of an 04 and my car is an 00? Also what kind of cam would ya'll recommend?

4.2L crank shaft out of an F150. You can get them new from Ford for about $200 - or there is a used one on 3.8mustang.com right now for $150 (IIRC).

That's it? It'll fit right in where the old 3.8 will? No need to replace anything else?

http://www.mustangevolution.com/forum/t9601/ That kinda scared me away....

Will I be able to use my stock heads and windstar intake from my 00?

Yeah, most of the other stuff swaps right over for you. That is talking about using the actual motor out of a truck, instead of just adding the new crank to an already 3.8L motor.

Alright awesome. So there shouldn't be any issues with the heads/intake/EGR/CPU correct? Once I'm finished building it, I can just swap those over and call it good? I am going to go ahead and order the windstar intake for my car now, and have the short block sitting for a while. I'll then install the 4.2 crank and eventually order a cam, install, havea base tune from VMP tuning and everything should just swap over and connect... am I right?

Haha long block? If it's already got P/P heads then I'd consider buying those from ya

If no, I'm getting a free shortblock locally
