Default Looking to do a conversion

I have a 96 3.8 and I've been considering on converting it to a manual V8, now I don't know that much about engines and such and I obviously know that I will need to learn more about them in order to do this. But I'd like to know a little more about what I'll be getting myself into like if I can even do it for one and whether or not it'd be financially a good idea. So some ideas and such would be awesome.

Here's a recent swap so you can get an idea of the cost and how hands on it is.

after a while on this site, you will find that dropping in a v8 is not necessarily the best way to go.
stick around and learn.
ive learned alot on here.

Plus, whats the challenge of a V8? Theres not...a real challenge is taking a 6 and making it run with the 8's

Yo ucan take a V6 and make it faster than a V8 with a M112 slapped ontop, and an 8.8 rear end with some good gears....

V10s are bigger than V8s - do one of them.

If you are stuck on going that way then the easiest way to do this is buy a wrecked GT or Cobra or Mach 1 and swap everything over and sell off what you dont need.
