Default Wheel Mounted Controls

Ok, What I want to do is relocate the on/off switch for the cruise and put in wheel mounted radio controls. I have a 97. Did any years with the same style wheel come with radio controls? Could I buy a wheel from a new mustang and install that or have the cruise control connections changed?

unless you REALLY know what your doing it wont work at all. the radio in the mustang was not designed to have external controls so
1 you must relocate cruise control by hand and custom wire new switches
2 you must remove radio, disassemble it and solder in wires to every control you want to has use of
3 you must find a radio control set that fits the steering wheel (probably has to be custom again)

it's a big job and not easy if you REALLY want to do it though it technically "can" be done but it will take a lot of knowledge.

Relocating the Cruise isn't a big deal I know I can do that. The radio I have is aftermarket that can accept the controls, so again no problem.

Finding something that would fit and look right is my concern.

ok then sounds like you got a good start at it then, i would suggest getting a "pin out diagram" from the manufacturer of your radio so you know what the wires on the remote control connector are for and what they do.

i would say the best option would be to get a steering wheel from a new mustang with all the controls on it and use that. im not positive how it would look in a new edge though.

You can only run 4 wires through your clockspring, and I think radio controls require more than that. Just make sure you don't accidentally catch an airbag wire.
